8/30/2021 0 Comments Harvest Photos - August 29, 2021We kicked off the 2021 harvest season on August 29th by picking Seyval and Vignoles grapes. Thanks to the great volunteers who RSVP'd and showed up to help. We value your commitment to help us bring in these grapes through a brief (but welcome) rain shower, rainbows, sunshine, and humidity. Team work from our volunteers and winery staff made the harvest smooth even if the day was long. We harvested lots of grapes!
Everyone headed to our Tasting Room after harvest to cool off, eat a made-from-scratch lunch, and drink wine and sangria. Thanks again to our volunteers, whether it was your first harvest or a return visit. You're the best! We have two more harvest dates on Sundays, September 12 and 19, from 8 am to noon. Want to help harvest? RSVP at events@fencestile.com. Let us know your contact name, the date, how many people in your party, and your phone number. We truly count on our volunteers to help out. We do the heavy lifting! Have fun, eat all the grapes you want, and be a part of this year's harvest of grapes that will become the 2021 vintages of wine. Our first grape stomp for the 2021 harvest season is complete. We'll host another grape stomp on Friday afternoon, August 27th, before the Wine Run/Walk 5K. Come out, stomp grapes, and cheer the runners and walkers on while sipping on wine and sangria. The grape stomp is free to the public. Bring a towel and your tootsies. Step into the tub, squish grapes, and do your best "I Love Lucy" impression.

Thursday, September 23, 6-9 pm Join us for an outdoor dinner and drinks experience on Fence Stile's spacious flagstone patio with a menu inspired by the flavors of late summer and harvest. The four-course dinner with wine pairings is $65 per person. Limited seating ensures a personalized experience and social distancing. Fence Stile's owner-winemaker Shriti Plimpton hosts the multi-course wine dinner prepared by chef Pete Dulin. Call 816-500-6465 to RSVP. The menu's ingredients and dish selections are an attempt to marry the flavors of the waning late summer season with the anticipation of cooler temperatures and autumnal cravings as fall approaches. Guests will experience slightly heartier dishes with an earthier feel brightened by lighter, citrusy notes. For example, tart, herbal notes from lemon-parsley gremolata will add zing to roasted cauliflower and Mornay sauce, or béchamel with cheese added. The rustic character of sweet potato gnocchi and greens will be balanced by vibrant flavors of pineapple, green tomato, and chili chutney providing sweetness, acidity, and heat for a full range of flavor. Of course, these dishes are meant to be paired with wines that will enhance, accent, or provide contrast to the food. Don't miss this sensory experience, a marriage of flavor through wine and food. Call 816-500-6465 to RSVP.
