The Fence Stile Story
A fence stile is a set of steps that lets people cross over a fence without needing a gate. For us, it is more than a name. It is an invitation.
Fence Stile is a place where guests, neighbors, friends, and families cross into the vineyard for wine, conversation, music, celebration, and time together. The estate has grown over the years, but the heart of it has stayed the same: good wine, generous hospitality, and a place worth sharing.

Milestones
Our Story in the Vines
2006
Vineyards established
Preparations for the first 2007 plantings began in the rolling hills of Excelsior Springs, Missouri.
2009
Winery guests welcomed
Fence Stile began welcoming guests for tastings, vineyard visits, and time together on the property.
2014
Wine caves built
The wine caves became part of the estate's identity — a working cellar, a tasting space, and one of the most memorable ways to experience Fence Stile.
2021
Distillery established
NYX Spirits added a new chapter, bringing small-batch spirits, brandies, rums, rhums, and craft releases into the Fence Stile family.

Over the years, guests have joined us for harvest, vineyard work days, walks among the vines, and celebrations tied to the growing season. Those moments are part of what makes Fence Stile feel personal. You are not just tasting wine from a list; you are spending time in the place where the story starts.
Craft & Cave
Wine Caves, Wine & NYX Spirits
The wine cave is both a working part of the winery and one of the most distinctive guest experiences on the property. It is where wine ages, where guests gather for candlelit tours and tastings, and where music, conversation, and celebration feel especially intimate.
Fence Stile wines reflect the land, the season, and the choices made from vine to bottle. NYX Spirits adds another expression of that same curiosity and craft, with small-batch spirits and a dedicated NYX Spirits experience.
More Than a Winery
A Place to Gather
Fence Stile has always been more than a place to taste wine. Guests come for quiet afternoons, live music, wine cave tours, love locks, seasonal events, celebrations, group experiences, and time outside with people they care about.
Outside the cave, guests settle in on the patio, in the Cellar Garden, around the firepit, or in the tasting room for wine, NYX Spirits, live music, and relaxed afternoons in the vineyard.
